Rheumatic diseases

Rheumatic diseases are disorders of connective tissue, especially the joints and related structures, characterized by inflammation, degeneration, or metabolic derangement.

It is attended by pain, stiffness, or limitation of motion of these parts. Rheumatism confined to the joints is classified as arthritis.

In case of inflammatory rheumatic diseases, autoimmune events are part of the pathogenesis.

 

It it important to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis in the early stage as only an early diagnosis and its immediate treatment inhibits irreversible damages of the progressive disease.
