Product Launch: EliA Anti-IgA

Phadia launches new fully automated Anti-IgA antibody test.

Phadia is pleased to announce that the new, fully automated EliA Anti-IgA test is now available.

The test detects IgG antibodies directed to IgA in human serum or plasma and is a very useful tool in assessing the risk of IgA-deficient subjects for anaphylactic reactions upon blood transfusion or intravenous IgG replacement therapy.

Up to 40 % of IgA-deficient subjects develop such antibodies. Since IgA deficiency is quite common in celiac disease (app. 3 %) the new test fits well to our offer in celiac disease testing (tTG antibodies, gliadin antibodies, deamidated gliadin antibodies).
