Incidence: rare - proportional to the preventative measures taken.
 
Type I mechanism (IgE-dependent).
 
The allergen is an electrophilic terpenic aldehyde.
 
Conditions
Rhinitis and asthma symptoms may go into spontaneous remission.
 
Symptoms
Rhinitis and asthma symptoms sometimes accompanied by contact eczema.
 
Diagnostic methods
Bronchial provocation test with the raw material (in hospital).
 
Immunological assay: RAST/CAP RAST vanilla.
